Make takeout at home with this easy & flavorful teriyaki chicken & broccoli! Minimal ingredients, no marinating required, and only 10 minutes to cook up. Serve this juicy chicken and homemade teriyaki sauce over rice as a quick dinner or meal prep!
Tender chicken. This sauce is easy to make at home while feeling like you have takeout and is far better. What I love about this recipe is that it reminds me of weekends Drew and I would order take out (usually chicken & veggies over a huge bowl of rice) and flake out on our couch watching an episode of Gilmore Girls. We both love a fantastic chicken with plenty of vegetables over quinoa or rice.

Directions
What to Serve with Teriyaki Chicken
You may serve chicken over brown or white rice, or quinoa. To get more veggies add carrots or peppers in with your poultry. Sprinkle with chopped onion and sesame seeds!
Extra Tips for Making Teriyaki Chicken
For protein inside this recipe you can use chicken breasts, cutlets, or boneless/skinless thighs.
Other organic sweeteners you may use if you don't have coconut sugar - agave, honey, or maple syrup.
Make as meal prep: store in sealed containers over rice/quinoa and enjoy during the week.
Add more vegetables to your teriyaki chicken such as sautéed carrots (shredded or chopped ), cauliflower, mushrooms, or chopped peppers.
Cooking tools: I really like using my cast iron skillet to cook this recipe. You could also use stainless steel or a wok.
- Whisk teriyaki sauce ingredients in a small bowl all.
- Heat in a cast-iron skillet brown chicken in oil until crispy and cooked on all sides. If pan is not hot enough the chicken will make sure pan is hot but not burning. *
- Add sauce and simmer for 1 to 2 minutes for sauce.
- Stir with sauce and chicken. Serve over rice with sesame seeds that are sprinkled and enjoy!
